Welcome to George Eliot Academy
The George Eliot Academy is a place where both pupils and staff feel a real sense of belonging and pride. We are passionate about our vision to develop successful pupils who are independent, well-rounded, behave with integrity, and most importantly live happy and fulfilled lives.
At The George Eliot Academy, we create an environment where pupils thrive. We create a values based environment where pupils thrive. We have high expectations of all pupils so that we can ensure they become good citizens with a strong moral purpose, who make positive contributions to their society.
We aim to provide our pupils with opportunities and experiences, that engenders in them the love of learning and equips them to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing society and are ready and willing to grasp the opportunities available to them.

We believe in education with character. We support all pupils to develop important life skills and character traits to succeed in life outside of school.
Your child will belong to one of our four houses, building their community of friends alongside competitions, enrichment activities and events.
We are a proudly diverse and inclusive school community where our pupils are respectful and kind to each another. Support is available to all, from our full time school counsellor to our in lesson academic support.
Our challenging and rigorous curriculum is created by experts and delivered by inspirational specialists. We have academic rigour in all lessons and high expectations of all learners.
With a relentless focus on high standards of behaviour and attitudes to learning, we prepare pupils to have the highest expectations of themselves, thus being the most successful version of themselves in all their endeavours.
At George Eliot Academy, staff, pupils, parents and the wider community are a family. We support, guide and share in challenges and celebrations.

Year 8 pupil Lessons are well planned, the majority of teachers care for students and reciprocate the respect given to them by students, we receive a well given education and teachers are passionate of their jobs. Clubs, activities, trips and events are incredibly enjoyable.
Year 9 pupil Staff are supportive and kind. I like the school meals. The after school clubs are engaging and fun.
Year 10 pupil The one way system makes it easier and more calm to move around and I enjoy how much pride we take in our equipment and uniform.
