The purpose of the English curriculum is to equip pupils with the skills and knowledge to become confident thinkers, speakers, and writers. We want to ensure that pupils are prepared for each stage of their academic journey and the world beyond the classroom. Through the study of a range of texts written by diverse voices, pupils are encouraged to discuss, debate, and explore universal ideas.

Modern Foreign Languages

The purpose of the MFL curriculum is to cultivate a love of language learning and other cultures.

Language learning develops oracy and communication skills to ensure that pupils are confident and prepared for both their academic journey and the world outside the classroom.

Listening, reading, speaking and writing are all skills that are developed through MFL lessons and are all transferable skills. Lessons focus on language that can be used in everyday situations when travelling abroad or speaking with speaker of French and Spanish.
