Our curriculum is broad, knowledge-rich and challenging. Entering its third year in the next academic year, our Nebula Group has already proven to be a highly successful programme for pupils with a keen interest in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Pupils in the Nebula Group have increased opportunities, deeper learning experiences and access to the highest levels of qualification within their chosen subjects. Pupils develop their knowledge, skills and aspirations beyond the classroom through a range of exciting opportunities, including science clubs, specialist lectures and science-related educational visits, all of which complement our outstanding universal enrichment programme.

 

We have an excellent Creative Arts Faculty where pupils take part in productions, choir, concerts and art festivals. Our pupils also compete locally and nationally in the Springboard Future Chef competition and have achieved multiple wins in recent years.

 

We have high standards of discipline and high expectations of all our pupils. We believe every child at our school deserves to learn in an environment free from disruption and to have uninterrupted lessons so they are able to achieve their best. Our standards and expectations for uniform, equipment and organisation are very high, and our pupils are taught and supported to meet these standards. We set regular homework and encourage and support all pupils to complete it to the best of their ability, as research shows that homework reinforces learning undertaken in school. We are proud of our pupils for rising to our high standards and thank our parents and carers for supporting the school.

 

We believe that the culture of our school is second to none. We have a House system, and each pupil is placed within one of four Houses. Pupils have a strong sense of belonging and compete at personal, form, year-group and House level. There is an excellent buzz around the school whenever competitions take place.

 

We believe that education should be character-forming, and to develop our pupils’ character, we offer a wide range of enrichment activities, including Science Club, chess, sports, art and many more. All pupils are encouraged to attend at least one enrichment activity per week so that they can enjoy new experiences. We want to develop leadership skills in our pupils and encourage them to apply for and take on positions as Buddies and Junior Leaders.
