New Harmony Garden and Outdoor Gym Open at George Eliot Academy
We are delighted to announce the official opening of our new Harmony Garden and Outdoor Gym at George Eliot Academy, providing our students with fantastic new spaces to enjoy fresh air and outdoor activity during break and lunch times.
The project has been championed by our dedicated Parent Teacher Association (PTA), who have worked tirelessly to create areas that encourage both relaxation and physical activity for our pupils. The outdoor gym equipment was installed over Easter, and the Harmony Garden is now open for students seeking a quiet space to unwind away from the bustle of school life.
The official opening was a proud moment for our school community, with Nuneaton and Bedworth’s Mayor, Councillor Bhim Saru, joining us to mark the occasion. Parents, local business representatives, and PTA members who contributed to the project were also present to celebrate this exciting addition to our school.
Our principal, Homeira Zakary, said:
"This was a fantastic occasion to celebrate the opening of our new garden and outdoor gym area. We are so pleased to welcome the Mayor, as well as our PTA and local business partners, who have done incredible work to bring this outdoor space to life for our young people. Thank you to everyone who contributed – our pupils will no doubt enjoy and benefit from this space for years to come."
Councillor Bhim Saru added:
"It is a joy to officially open this wonderful new space for the pupils. Giving back to the community and inspiring the younger generation is very important to me, and I look forward to visiting George Eliot Academy again in the future."
We are incredibly proud of our community for coming together to create these spaces, which will support the well-being, fitness, and happiness of our students for many years.
